Our Story, Inc. is celebrating 30 years of sharing history and we have planned an event full of appreciation, history, fun, food & friends. It's a party!

ACTIVITIES WE HAVE PLANNED!


Northern Nevada African American Firefighter Museum K Run

9K Fun Run! Check-in will begin promtley at 10 a.m. Run to start at 10:30 a.m. There is a $1 signup fee to be paid at the time you get your runners packet. The runners packet will consist of a  bib number, t-shirt and "Fun Run" medals for the participants. Age range is from 5 years through 10 years.. At this time, we will be able to accommodate up to 50 runners. There will be a 984.25 yard track around the Fire Station and Park area. A water table will be placed along the route to keep the runners hydrated, along with granola bars for energy.  Parents are required to be present and to sign a liability waiver.

Northern Nevada African American Firefighter Museum

Enjoy discovering the accomplishments of the first responders and service people that help make Northern Nevada what it is today.


Fire Engines & Trucks

Become a kid again and discover the wonder of the contemporary & vintage fire apparatus up close and personal. Learn fire safety and very cool facts about the life saving equipment and the folks that are trained to operate them. Meet and greet FireMatic and other antique fire apparatus. A rep from both agencies will attend and I will offer them the opportunity to address the gathering. 


Generation Elevate

An opportunity for families to learn how their youth ages 13–21 can get help  with the tools to grow, succeed, and lead. Generation Elevate partners with school districts, courts, juvenile justice systems, and community organizations to deliver culturally relevant, trauma-informed programming that addresses the root causes of disengagement.

Food & Party Favors

Can't have a party without hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, something to wash it down with and birthday cup cakes. Supply will be limited. Get there on time!!
