Ollie

Our new website host Ollie was created in honor of a true unsung Northern Nevada hero. Arriving in Northern Nevada in 1953 with his wife Helen, Ollie immediately started working to better his community. He served as a police and correctional officer and civil rights advocate. Ollie was a long time resident of Black Springs, a 36 acre area north of Reno, where he worked tirelessly to make sure the its residents there had equal utility services, opportunities and resources. The Westbrook Community Center located in Black Springs is named after Ollie and Helen Westbrook.
